Privacy & email choices

Patron Saint is an independent Orthodox educational resource operated by Holocron.

Quiz answers

Your answers stay in the browser tab. Reloading or closing the page clears the quiz. The server does not collect the quiz answers. The website does not use advertising trackers.

Reading saint lives

When you open a biography or download a reading guide, your browser requests the relevant saint details from our server. These requests include public saint identifiers. Your quiz answers remain in the browser tab.

Email guides

When you request a guide, your email address and three saint identifiers are sent to our server and email provider to deliver the guide. Requesting a guide does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Email delivery uses SendGrid with click and open tracking disabled.

Optional newsletter

Newsletter signup requires a separate checkbox and email confirmation. Subscriber records store the email address, consent state, and request and confirmation timestamps. Pending requests expire after seven days. You can unsubscribe through the email link. Contact us to request deletion.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics loads only after you opt in. Analytics measures basic page views and quiz completion counts. We do not send quiz answers, matched saint identifiers, or email addresses to analytics. Google Analytics may process device and connection information under its privacy policy. You can withdraw your choice through Analytics preferences in the website footer.

Media and abuse prevention

Google Fonts, Legacy Icons’ image CDN, and the video CDN receive normal connection information, including IP addresses, when serving fonts or media. Short-lived hashed request identifiers help limit email abuse. Hosting and email services process connection and delivery information needed to provide their services.
