Saint Abraham of Cyrrhus
Monk, priest and bishop
Cyrrhus and the region of Mount Lebanon
Feast day: February 14

A life of faith
Abraham came from Cyrrhus and lived an ascetic life before settling near Mount Lebanon. Some local people treated him harshly, but he responded by paying taxes they owed. The community later asked him to serve as their priest. After three years he left another priest in his place and returned to solitude. He subsequently became a bishop.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Abraham invites reflection on practical generosity toward people with whom you have a difficult relationship.
