A life of faith

Aetherius served as bishop in Cherson after the earlier bishops had suffered martyrdom. He told Emperor Constantine about their deaths and sought protection for the Christian community. The Christians were then able to build a church. During a later journey back from Constantinople, Aetherius died on the island called Tas and was buried there.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
