A life of faith

Agapius belonged to the family of Eustathius Placidas. The family received Christian baptism together. Their received life recounts a long separation and eventual reunion. Agapius suffered martyrdom with Eustathius, Theopista and Theopistus after Eustathius refused pagan sacrifice.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

The family’s joint commemoration remembers people whose lives were disrupted by separation and persecution.
