A life of faith

Agathonicus preached Christianity in Nicomedia during persecution under Maximian. He was arrested by the governor Eutolmius. The calendar remembers his refusal to abandon his faith and his execution at Selymbria.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Agathonicus invites reflection on speaking about faith with conviction when doing so carries a cost.
