A life of faith

Aithalas served as deacon at Beth Nuhadra. He is commemorated with the bishop Acepsimas and the priest Joseph during the Persian persecution under Shapur II. The three endured three years of punishment and suffered martyrdom after refusing worship of the sun.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Aithalas’s shared commemoration invites gratitude for the fellowship of a church’s ministers.
