A life of faith

Andrew was a soldier during Maximian’s reign. His traditional life remembers prayer before a battle and his refusal to abandon Christian faith when challenged by his commander. After imprisonment and release, Andrew and his fellow soldiers went to Tarsus for baptism. They were pursued and killed.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Andrew’s journey invites reflection on bringing commitments into prayer and seeking a life rooted in baptism.
