A life of faith

After her husband’s death, Anthia raised her son Eleutherius as a Christian in Rome. She brought him into the life of the Church and arranged his study of Scripture. When Eleutherius was killed during persecution, Anthia embraced his body and openly confessed her own Christian faith. She was then executed.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Anthia invites reflection on patient care expressed through teaching and presence. Consider how you can support someone’s growth while remaining faithful to your own responsibilities.
