Saint Antonina of Cordam
Martyr
Cordam
Feast day: June 10

A life of faith
Antonina refused to abandon Christianity when brought before the prefect Festus. She was confined in a brothel, but escaped after the soldier Alexander gave her his clothing. When she learned that Alexander was being punished for helping her, she returned and confronted Festus. The two suffered martyrdom together.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Antonina recalls speaking up for a person who has already taken a risk on our behalf.
