A life of faith

Astius was a bishop of Dyrrachium, now Durrës. The Orthodox Church of Albania remembers him among the earliest witnesses to Christianity in the city. Its historical account says he was crucified and records his commemoration on July 6.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
