A life of faith

Autonomus was a bishop in Italy who fled persecution under Diocletian and found shelter with Cornelius in Bithynia. He preached Christianity and built a church dedicated to Archangel Michael. He later appointed Cornelius to lead the local church and continued preaching elsewhere. Autonomus was killed during an attack on the church.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Autonomus recalls building a community and preparing another person to continue its work.
