A life of faith

Caesarius refused to sacrifice to Apollo. The received account tells of the temple’s collapse through his prayers and the conversion of the consul Leontius. Caesarius is remembered with the priest Julian. The ruler Luxorius ordered both men thrown into the sea, where they died.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
