A life of faith

Capito became bishop of Cherson after Aetherius. His life recounts that, when opponents demanded a sign, he entered a heated furnace and emerged unharmed. Later, while traveling to Constantinople on church business, a storm drove his ship toward the mouth of the Dnieper. Local attackers robbed the travelers and drowned Capito.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
