A life of faith

Celestine succeeded Boniface as bishop of Rome. The calendar remembers a letter he sent to Cyril of Alexandria through episcopal representatives. The letter addressed the teaching of Nestorius and was read at the Third Ecumenical Council.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Celestine’s letter invites reflection on careful teaching and responsible communication.
