Saint Clement of Ohrid
Bishop and teacher
Kutmitchevitsa, Devol and Ohrid
Feast day: November 25; July 27 (Bulgarian Church)

A life of faith
Clement was a disciple of Cyril and Methodius and accompanied their mission to Moravia and Rome. After Methodius died, he came to Bulgaria, where Boris-Michael entrusted him with teaching in the southwest. Clement taught young people, translated church books and composed homilies for Christian worship. He also built churches and monasteries and became a bishop. He died in 916 and was buried at the monastery of Saint Panteleimon that he had founded.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
