Saint Cyril Cvjetković of Bezdin
Venerable Confessor
Baošići, Savina, Dalmatia and Bezdin
Feast day: September 29 (Julian) / October 12 (Gregorian)

A life of faith
Cyril was baptized Konstantin in Baošići and entered monastic life at Savina. He later served as a priest and secretary in Šibenik. The official Serbian account remembers his opposition to pressure on the Orthodox community and the prolonged imprisonment that followed. His later years were spent at Bezdin, where monastic records describe his church and community responsibilities. His autobiography preserves testimony about his life and imprisonment. He died in 1857. The Church honors him as a confessor; conflicting details about his release and final years are left unresolved here.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Cyril continued serving a community after years of hardship. Consider what faithful service could mean in your circumstances, with support and guidance rather than isolation.
