A life of faith

Daniel is named among the Christian leaders at Nicopolis in Armenia during the reign of Licinius. Together with Leontius, Maurice and Anthony, he openly acknowledged his Christian faith despite persecution. The group was imprisoned and executed with other Christians remembered as the Forty-five Martyrs of Nicopolis.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

The joint commemoration remembers Christians who faced persecution together.
