Saint Elpidius of Cherson
Bishop
Cherson and the Black Sea region
Feast day: March 7

A life of faith
Elpidius was a bishop associated with the early Christian mission in Cherson. He left the Hellespont with Eugene and Agathodorus after they heard that Basileus had been killed. The three continued the mission in Cherson and suffered martyrdom there. Elpidius is remembered with his fellow bishops on March 7.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
