Saint Eugraphus of Alexandria
Clerk and martyr
Alexandria
Feast day: December 10

A life of faith
Eugraphus had served as a clerk when Menas came to Alexandria as an official. After seeing the treatment of Menas and Hermogenes, he publicly declared that he too was Christian and rejected the emperor’s orders. The calendar remembers his immediate execution after this confession.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Reflect on what helps you speak truthfully when the people around you disagree. Ask for steady conviction without contempt for others.
