A life of faith

Eulampia learned that her brother Eulampius was being tortured. She appeared before the judge Maximus and declared that she too was Christian. The calendar remembers the siblings refusing to abandon their faith despite punishment. Eulampia died before the intended execution was carried out.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Eulampia’s decision to stand beside her brother recalls the courage involved in public solidarity.
