A life of faith

Ghelasie is remembered as a fourteenth-century monk and hierarch at Râmeț in Transylvania. The official calendar preserves local traditions of his prayer, work alongside disciples, and guidance for hermits and villagers. An inscription discovered at the monastery names Archbishop Ghelasie and the year 1376. The Romanian Church commemorates him on June 30.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
