Saint Gregory the Dialogist
Bishop of Rome
Rome and Constantinople
Feast day: March 12

A life of faith
Gregory served in Roman administration before entering monastic life. With his inheritance he founded monasteries in Sicily and a community in his family home in Rome. He later served at Constantinople and became bishop of Rome. The calendar remembers his monastic foundations and his ministry to the Church.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Gregory put inherited resources toward communities of prayer. Consider what you can share to support the life of your own parish.
