Saint Hezekiah, King of Judah
Righteous king
Judah & Jerusalem
Feast day: August 28

A life of faith
Hezekiah was the son of Ahaz and became king of Judah. The calendar recalls his reopening of the Temple and his prayers when Jerusalem was threatened and when he became gravely ill. His life is associated with the biblical accounts in the books of Kings.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Hezekiah prayed in danger and gave thanks for help. Make room for gratitude as well as requests in your prayer.
