Saint Irenarchus of Sebaste
Martyr
Sebaste
Feast day: November 28

A life of faith
Irenarchus worked as an executioner at Sebaste. Assigned to kill seven Christian women, he was moved by their confession of faith and became a Christian himself. He openly confessed his new faith and suffered martyrdom with the priest Acacius, who had baptized him during his suffering.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
