A life of faith

Isaac was the son of Abraham and the husband of Rebecca. He was the father of Jacob and Esau. The OCA entry recalls the account of Abraham’s testing and presents Isaac within the Church’s reading of the Old Testament.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Read the biblical account alongside the Church’s remembrance. Consider what the passage invites you to bring to prayer.
