Saint Leontius of Tripoli
Soldier and martyr
Tripoli in Phoenicia
Feast day: June 18

A life of faith
Leontius was a Christian soldier at Tripoli. When Hypatius and Theodulus were sent to arrest him, he welcomed them into his home and explained his faith. Both received baptism. At the arrival of the official Adrian, the three confessed Christ and suffered martyrdom.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Leontius joins hospitality with the courage to speak honestly to people sent as opponents.
