A life of faith

Macarius Palamas was the brother of Gregory Palamas. He went to Mount Athos with Gregory and Theodosios to enter monastic life. The calendar remembers the family together and describes the place of prayer and monastic commitment in their shared history.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
