A life of faith

Mardarius saw Eustratius being led toward Nicopolis and was moved by his witness. With his wife’s blessing, he went after Eustratius and told the soldiers that he too was Christian. He was arrested with Eustratius. Before Lysias, Mardarius remained faithful to Christ and died under torture.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
