Saint Maximus of Ozovia
Reader and martyr
Ozovia and Durostorum
Feast day: April 28

A life of faith
Maximus was a reader from Ozovia, near Durostorum. Arrested with Quintilian and Dadas, he refused the offer of a position in pagan worship. The three remained imprisoned and were eventually executed in their village.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Maximus invites reflection on keeping conviction when advancement is offered at a cost.
