A life of faith

Meletie entered Cozia Monastery while young and later received permission to live among the hermits across the Olt. He made a cave cell on Mount Sălbaticul, where Neofit also lived. He spent his days in prayer and returned to Daniil at Turnu on Sundays for Communion. His remembrance preserves this rhythm of solitude and worship with the community.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Meletie’s example invites a steady rhythm of prayer and a continuing connection with a community.
