Saint Michael the Warrior of Potuka
Warrior
Potuka and Tarnovo, Bulgaria
Feast day: November 22

A life of faith
The received Bulgarian life remembers Michael as a man from Potuka who gave generously to poor people from his youth. He later led a company in the Byzantine army. The account includes a dragon-slaying tradition and associates him with the time of Boris-Michael, without establishing his chronology securely. His relics were later brought to Tarnovo, where Patriarch Euthymius composed his life.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
