A life of faith

Mishael was taken into captivity in Babylon with Daniel, Hananiah and Azariah. He received the Babylonian name Meshach. The received biblical account commemorates him with the other two youths who refused to worship the king’s statue and were preserved by God in the furnace.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
