Saint Musa of Rome
Child saint
Rome
Feast day: May 16

A life of faith
Musa is a child remembered in Gregory the Great’s Dialogues. Gregory says the story came from her brother Probus. The account describes a vision of the Mother of God with young girls and a change in Musa’s conduct afterward. She later became ill with a fever and died. Her remembrance belongs to the received Christian stories of childhood, prayer and hope beyond death.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Offer children patient care and space to ask questions about faith.
