A life of faith

Nahum is remembered among the prophets of Israel. The calendar connects his book with the fall of Nineveh and with reassurance for Judah during Assyrian domination. His three-chapter book remains part of the Old Testament.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Read a passage from Nahum with attention to the people living under oppression. Bring their need for justice and peace into your prayer.
