A life of faith

Natalia was a Christian whose husband Adrian came to faith after hearing imprisoned believers. She visited him and the other prisoners, encouraged them, and tended their wounds with clean cloths. After Adrian’s death, she preserved a relic and later travelled to the place where his remains had been taken. The calendar remembers her suffering and her service to prisoners as her own witness.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Natalia’s example invites practical, sustained care for people whose suffering can otherwise remain hidden.
