A life of faith

Nicanor was among the first deacons of the Church. The Romanian calendar remembers his death during the persecution associated with the martyrdom of Stephen at Jerusalem.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Nicanor’s commemoration opens a path into the service of the first deacons.
