A life of faith

Paisie Olaru entered Cozancea as a young adult and later served as a confessor at Sihăstria. Basilica remembers his availability to visitors, daily pastoral care, and support for monks displaced by persecution. Even during periods of retreat at Sihla, people sought his counsel. His commemoration recalls a quiet elder whose prayer and personal attention helped sustain others through difficult circumstances.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Make time to listen to someone carrying a difficult burden. Paisie's remembered availability places personal care within a life of prayer.
