A life of faith

The received life says Pancratius came from Antioch and met the apostles in Jerusalem. Peter baptized him and appointed him bishop of Taormina in Sicily. Pancratius preached there, and the official Boniface supported the building of a church after becoming Christian. Opposition continued, and Pancratius was killed while Boniface was away.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Pancratius’s remembrance invites reflection on teaching in a divided community. Consider how to explain your faith without treating other people as obstacles.
