Saint Patrick of Prusa
Bishop and martyr
Prusa
Feast day: May 19

A life of faith
Patrick was bishop of Prusa. He preached Christ and, when brought before the official Julius, defended his faith rather than offer pagan worship. His life recounts an ordeal at the hot springs and his execution with the priests Acacius, Menander and Polyaenus.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Patrick invites reflection on explaining a conviction plainly when challenged.
