A life of faith

Pega was the sister of Guthlac of Crowland. The received account remembers her caring for him and later living as a hermitess nearby. At his request, she arranged his funeral and later organized the transfer of his remains in the presence of clergy. Tradition connects her hermitage with Peakirk, though the precise site is not established. Later accounts describe a pilgrimage to Rome, where she is said to have died.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
