A life of faith

Philumenus came from Lycaonia and worked as a merchant. During the reign of Aurelian, he was brought before the authorities in Ancyra, where Felix was governor. The calendar’s brief account remembers his Christian confession, the torture he suffered and his martyrdom.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Philumenus invites reflection on bringing faith into ordinary working life. Consider one way your conduct at work can express a conviction you hold.
