A life of faith

Photius saw his uncle Anicetus suffering for his Christian faith. He declared publicly that he was Christian and was imprisoned with his uncle. The calendar remembers their shared endurance and death during Diocletian’s persecution.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Photius invites reflection on standing beside a relative who is being treated unjustly.
