A life of faith

Plato was raised by Christian parents in Ancyra and learned the Scriptures. His public preaching led to his arrest and appearance before the governor Agrippinus. Plato refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods. The account remembers his continued Christian confession through torture and his execution at the beginning of the fourth century.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Plato invites reflection on the relationship between learning and conviction. What belief deserves more careful study before you speak about it publicly?
