Saint Proclus of Calypta
Martyr
Calypta near Ancyra, Galatia
Feast day: July 12

A life of faith
Proclus of Calypta was the uncle of Hilary. The received life places their suffering under Trajan and the governor Maximus. He refused to abandon Christ and was killed with arrows. Christians buried the two martyrs together.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Consider how you can stand beside someone facing an unjust burden without making the person’s suffering about yourself.
