A life of faith

Sava II was born Predislav, a son of Stephen the First-Crowned and a nephew of Sava I. He entered monastic life and later became Archbishop of Serbia, succeeding Arsenius I. He is remembered on February 8. The brief OCA account gives little detail about his daily work and records several possible years for his death. Sava II is a different person from his uncle, the first Serbian archbishop.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Sava II shared his monastic name with his uncle but followed his own path. Read his short account alongside those of Sava I and Arsenius I to place his life in context.
