A life of faith

Sofian Boghiu trained in theology and art before serving the communities of Antim and Plumbuita. His work included church painting, restoration, and guidance for people seeking confession. Arrested in connection with the Burning Bush spiritual movement, he spent years in prison before returning to ministry. Basilica remembers his provision of painting plans without payment and his patient reception of visitors late into the night. His commemoration connects artistic craftsmanship with the care of people and the renewal of church life after persecution.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
