A life of faith

Theocharis was an orphan who came into the household of the governor of Neapolis in Cappadocia and cared for his animals. The governor offered marriage to his daughter on condition that Theocharis convert to Islam. Theocharis refused, received Communion and again declined the demand. The received life remembers his death after torture.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Theocharis refused a reward that required him to abandon his convictions. Consider which commitments you would not trade for advancement.
