Saint Theodore Trichinas
Monk
Constantinople and a nearby monastic community
Feast day: April 20

A life of faith
Theodore was born into a wealthy family in Constantinople. He left his family’s wealth and status to enter a monastery and become a monk. His rough garment of hair gave rise to the name Trichinas, associated with the monastery where he lived. The received life remembers his long nights of prayer and the healings associated with his ministry and relics.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
A reflection
Theodore made room for prayer by setting aside worldly advantages. Choose a modest, sustainable time for prayer within your own responsibilities.
