A life of faith

Theodosius entered monastic life near Vidin and later became a disciple of Gregory of Sinai at Paroria. He sought support from Ivan Alexander for the monastery and eventually settled near Tarnovo with his companion Roman. Monks gathered around him at Kilifarevo, where he taught and guided the community. Euthymius, the future patriarch of Tarnovo, was among his disciples. The life attributed to Patriarch Callistus remembers his continual prayer and counsel to monks. He later traveled to Constantinople and died at the monastery of Saint Mamant.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Offer calm guidance when someone asks for help, and leave time for attentive prayer.
