A life of faith

Theognius was a son of Bassa and Valerius and a brother of Agapius and Pistus. Their mother raised the boys as Christians. The received life recounts their imprisonment with Bassa, their torture before her and the eventual beheading of all three brothers.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Remember the people who have stood beside your family during a difficult time. Their companionship may deserve a word of thanks.
